opposites attract -- stripes and florals.

Winter Waves Cardigan
www.anthropologie.com; $98
Although the promise of warmer days is on the horizon, it will be quite awhile before I can wear short sleeves and strappy dresses -- at least, not without something fairly substantial over them.  This cardigan from Anthropologie is just the ticket: warm and cozy, it doesn't look too heavy and the details are interesting without being too distracting from whatever fabulous warm-weather piece is underneath.

Mixing prints is something that has always intimidated me: doing it wrong leads to a clownish look, like you're trying too hard, or -- my personal favorite -- like you've dressed in the dark and had no idea what you were reaching for.  However, stripes mixed with florals are everywhere this spring, and I'm totally smitten with the look.  Keeping the prints simple and the shapes clean seems to be the key to mixing these prints in a way that's pretty without being messy, and I can't wait to give it a shot.

Will YOU be wearing stripes and florals this spring?
xo Josie
Thanks to Anthropologie and Atlantic-Pacific for the photos.

Never tried mixing two prints because I am very minimalist but I guess everything works with confidence! :)
