get the look -- printed pants.

COVETING: Nanette Lepore Avon Vale Dress; $328
I'm a total sucker for cute, professional dresses that add a major (and often much-needed) dose of color to my wardrobe.  This sweet little Nanette Lepore one is the piece of my dreams in that respect.  It has a classic, chic shape, but the seaming takes the basic sheath silhouette to a new level entirely.  I love the little ladylike 3/4-length sleeves, and the color is, of course, utterly phenomenal.

There are some trends that are simply not for the fashionably faint of heart.  Rompers come to mind -- as do fedoras, sneaker wedges, and dramatic maxi skirts.  For fall, printed pants are just such a trend.  They're bold and chic and it takes a certain panache to pull them off -- but when that attitude is adopted, they become incredibly versatile and extremely wearable, especially when silhouette and print are customized to the wearer's tastes.

DEAL: Forever21 Abstract Zigzag Pants; $19.80
These pants are certainly statement-making -- but I'm convinced that with the right styling, they could be fantastic.  The key is their shape -- loose and breezy so as not to appear to be trying too hard, but still tailored enough to be chic.  Styled with a pair of loafers and a tailored top, these would be perfect weekend wear.

Juicy Couture Eton Plaid Pants; $198
In a fairly subdued print, these pants are perfect for the preppy and slightly more reserved fashionista.  I love the large windowpane plaid, and the ankle length is perfect -- so ladylike, not too overwhelming, and very Audrey Hepburn.  With a sweet pair of flats or killer pumps, these pants would be perfect with a crisp white button-down or, even better, a sparkly sequined tank to make an even stronger statement.; sale (now) $98
Taking bold trends to the office can always be tricky, but J. Crew has you covered with their ever-appropriate Cafe Capri pant.  This pair is in a bold, poppy polka-dot print that is truly undeniable.  I love how well the '50s-esque print pairs with the ladylike shape and that these capris are the perfect canvas for neutral accessories.; $188
The most relaxed version of printed pants, these Current/Elliot boyfriend-style capris are just slouchy and faded enough to make taking on this trend look truly effortless.  And if you're feeling particularly daring, the color palate is subtle enough to bring in a bit of print-mixing.

Will YOU be wearing printed pants this fall?

Haven't nailed down the printed pant trend but hopefully I'll find one soon that is flattering on me. Love the Nanette green dress though - classic but love the color.
