eye candy -- fourth of july fun.

COVETING: Kate Spade Cora Glitter Loafer in Rose Gold (also in Black and Gold)
www.bergdorfgoodman.com; $225
Though we're certainly in the heat of summer, I'm looking towards fall regardless -- and I've decided that these charming little Kate Spade loafers simply must be a part of my wardrobe next season.  They would be simply brilliant with a pair of skinny jeans or fall-hued skirt.  Of course, that's not to say that they wouldn't get plenty of summer wear as well; wouldn't they be just perfect with a pair of denim shorts or crisp white sundress?

There's something about the Fourth of July that I just love.  It could be the history and heritage of the holiday, or the way that it provides a summer marker.  Or it could simply be how the holiday brings people together for nothing but sun and fun.  Regardless, I'm a big fan of the day and all that comes along with it, from the patriotic colors to the parades to fabulous fireworks displays.  I've shared some of my favorite festive ideas for the week below -- what are yours?

Flag sheet cake
{a very classic and always-delicious patriotic dessert via}

I'll be taking Wednesday off to celebrate and hope that the rest of you are doing so as well -- wishing you all a safe and happy holiday!
