I have a bit of a problem with patience. I'm busy enough that I tend to avoid situations and, moreover, recipes that require a lot of waiting around for satisfaction unless I'm convinced that the result will be worth my time. Softening butter is the bane of my existence; I don't have the patience to chill cookie dough for long (if only because it tends to disappear during the chill time). Waiting for bread dough to proof was another of these tedious tasks, but when I spotted this flatbread recipe, I knew that it would be completely worth it. A sort-of-sweet and sort-of-savory slab of focaccia with a heavenly citrus scent from orange zest and a plethora of roasted strawberries, a drizzle of balsamic vinegar was the perfect touch to offset the sweetness of this dish. Upon tasting a strip dipped in olive oil laced with black pepper and sea salt, I was convinced that the best things are in fact worth waiting for.
Wishing you all a beautiful weekend!
