I've never been ashamed to admit that I have a lot of weaknesses. I'm extremely ticklish. A great pair of shoes can reduce me to jelly. Sour Patch Kids, cookie dough, and peanut butter don't stand a chance when I'm around. My Diet Coke habit has shot well past the border of addiction. But Rice Krispie Treats -- those are special. Those are practically sacred. I can eat pans of them. I love them when they're cool enough to be cut but am hardly above putting them in the pan and then tearing them apart with my hands in anticipation. I love them packaged. I love them homemade. I don't discriminate. But after making
this recipe, I think I may have to. These are quite simply the best Rice Krispie bars I've ever eaten. This is likely due to the full stick of butter that they include, or the rich brown butter flavor, or the liberal sprinkle of sea salt. Or maybe it's just because I put them in a smaller pan, yielding thick, chewy bars that proved dangerously addictive.

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend -- what have YOU been cooking up lately?
xo Josie

I seriously would never have thought to put salt on these. I've been experimenting with sweet potatoes and different spices/seasonings :)

So yummy, Josie. The perfect mix of salty and sweet. My apartment is being renovated, so I haven't cooked much myself, but others have made me roasted chicken breasts and cauliflower penne puttanesca. Yum! xo style, she wrote
