get the look -- peplum pieces.

ATTAINABLE: Sergeant Pepper Dress by Mink Pink
www.tillyboutique.com; $75
I'm always a fan of a great shirtdress, and this army-green one from Mink Pink is just the ticket for my spring wardrobe. I love the easy, flattering shape and that it would pair nicely with tights and boots for the chilly remainders of winter but will be charming with a pair of flat metallic sandals come warmer days. I'm a huge fan of the double pockets as well -- so military chic. And doesn't this adorable model look familiar?

When I first posted a peplum-adorned dress (here), I was, admittedly, skeptical about the daring look. Of course, that was two years ago, and peplums are nothing short of hot now -- and are coming in at every price point. Whether they be added to skirts, dresses, or tops, they create a chic, feminine, and incredibly flirty look that's perfect for spring. Add your favorite pair of sky-high pumps and prepare to be complimented.

Alice + Olivia Tory Peplum DressEXTRAVAGANCE: Alice + Olivia Tory Peplum Dress
www.shopbop.com; $297
When it comes to beautiful simplicity, Alice + Olivia always does it well. This gorgeous streamlined dress is a stunning way to incorporate peplums into your wardrobe effortlessly. The shape is simple and incredibly flattering, and the exposed zipper is the perfect detail to add to the pretty frock rather than detract from the main embellishment. Best of all, this dress would work perfectly for day with a great jacket but would be fantastic for a cocktail party when a added to a killer pair of heels and stack of sparkly jewelry.

DEAL: ASOS Shell Top with Peplum
www.asos.com; $39.39
When wearing peplums at work, I'm convinced that they need to be in a classic, understated shape. This navy shell is perfect. It would layer beautifully with pants under a simple jacket or with a fabulous pencil skirt -- so outrageously chic.

EXTRAVAGANCE: J. Crew Peplum Top in Fresco Floral Sateen
www.jcrew.com; $350
I'm more than mildly obsessed with this adorable little J. Crew top. It's such a fun piece for spring and pairs perfectly with dark denim. How great would this be with a pair of brown riding boots or neutral pumps for a dose of low-key glamour?

DEAL: Modcloth Bronze and Brains Skirt
www.modcloth.com; $72.99
When it comes to this little sequined skirt, forget low-key glamour -- it goes the whole way. The trick is to keep the rest of your look as basic as possible. When the simplest of black tanks is tucked in and the highest of pumps is added, there's no way to miss with this pretty piece.

Are YOU wearing peplums this spring?
xo Josie

I'm not sure peplums are my friend. On one hand, I think they are very chic, on the other, I've got a curvy figure. They probably just make me look THAT much curvier!

Shirt dresses are great for summer and so versatlie too. Easy to dress up for a casual-ish evening with a cute pair of heels. Need to get me one of these for this summer.

Thanks for your comment :) xx

I love peplum, but I look stupid in it. I don't know why. It's like it swallows my entire body. And that makes me sad.
