simple pleasures -- winter blahs busters.

Charlotte Ronson Burlap Stripe Raglan SweaterCOVETING: Charlotte Ronson Burlap Stripe Raglan Sweater
www.shopbop.com; retail $175
It isn't getting warmer here in the Midwest. It's just NOT. I can't possibly believe that it's going to be April soon, because the weather has been in the 30s consistently for the past several weeks... And there's just something wrong with that. But it does make me crave chunky knits more and more -- like this Charlotte Ronson sweater. The oversized shape is so cozy-looking, and I love that the raglan style is defined by buttons. Perfect for pairing with jeans and boots (YES, I'm still in BOOTS) now, and denim shorts and fabulous wedges in what I can only hope will be the decidedly near future.

I hate to harp on the weather, but it's become a major source of concern for me. Spring is supposed to be warm and pretty, right? Just checking. There's not a whole lot getting me through these dreary days spent mostly in the library. Luckily, there are some simple things that make me smile despite the gloomy clouds and the fact that I'm still rocking my winter coat.

I've been wearing my new trench coat every day even though it's definitely still winter coat weather. And I'm in DC, forcryingoutloud!

Ah, that sweater is beautiful! And I'm doing my best to avoid Easter candy... ugh, those Whopper Robin Eggs will be the death of me.

Josie, I totally feel you on the blah...it is so disappointing when the calendar says it's spring and the weather says it's winter. I am trying not to invest in too many more winter pieces (tempting as the chunky knits are) because I know in a month or so I'll be whining about how all I have is winter clothes and nothing fit for spring :) I'm trying to channel spring with bright colors and the occasional trip to the tanning salon!

I completely have the winter blues...BUT, this is that time of year that I decide to rebel and wear whatever I want, no matter what the temperature is. LOL...so sandals are on my feet and a tanktop is on my body, and I think it is like 30 some degrees outside. :-) Oh well!

Have a great week!

I am beating the winter blahs by exfoliating my skin and planning my post-winter facial!!

I'm with you on this, Josie! I'm sick of sweaters and boots and ready for warm weather! It's been cold and rainy here for about the last month. But it's actually supposed to get into the 80s today and tomorrow and then back to the 60s again. But I'm going to live it up while I can. Easter candy is my FAVORITE and I've been holding off so far, but I have to get some soon. That ice cream is the death of me. I can't get enough. Thanks for the shout out and link, Josie! xoxo

It's strange that it's still cold where you live when it has skipped spring in my neck of the woods and launched directly into summer. Hot and gross already! I hope everything changes in the next few weeks for everyone :)

I LOVE that sweater! Wish it was a tad bit cheaper...

I'm missing spring too. In NC, we've been teased by having a couple days of 80s temps then back down to low 40s! Talk about hard to dress for...

I'm in boots in AL today! The weather is ridiculous. It has to get and stay warm soon!

Kristin said...

I've been partaking in peanut butter eggs for like a month now! hahahaha

I so have the winter blues Josie. Seriously it snowed and rained last night. It's miserable and cold here. Ok I love that sweater! And that Reeses is reminding me of the fudge I bought this week. It was so fresh and was peanut butter chocolate. Yummy!
