breaking all the rules.

Gap shirt, Aerie tank, Aqua skirt, Merona tights and watch, Qupid booties, Mae and J bag, vintage bracelet

I've always been a rule-follower -- I organized my picture books alphabetically when I was young and managed to make it through high school without a single detention. This rule-following has spread into my clothing choices, though, and I sometimes have to wonder if it's a good thing. I hesitate to mix silver and gold jewelry. Navy and black together is a huge no-no. But for some reason, I was feeling like mixing things up when I tossed this on the other day. As I paired the black tights and booties with a navy skirt and bag as I simultaneously mixed hardware tones, I couldn't help but feel just the tiniest bit rebellious. And I have to say -- I didn't hate it.

Have a fab weekend and don't forget that it's your last chance to enter my Coach giveaway before Monday morning!

Look at you gettin' all creative! I bit hesitant when mixing navy and black too, but I'm thinking I'm gonna have to try it. :) Also- I looove mixing gold and silver, antique brass and rose gold, pretty much just about all kinds of hardware! Love the way you did it here of course! xo

I think it's ok to wear black tights with navy in the winter. I perfect that over brown or white tights. And where are you? is that your closet, if so, it's amazing!

I can totally relate. All through high school and college, I would never mix black and brown together, or silver and gold - but since then I've totally changed my mind. I especially love black and brown together now! Style is the most exciting when you make up your own rules, isn't it?!

I think navy and black is a definite do! :)

I used to feel the same way! Since starting blogging, I've started to let the 'rules' slide a bit here and there and take more chances with my personal style. Sometimes I do mix silver and gold jewellery. I haven't tried black and navy, but I might just have to now that I see it can be done!
