J.Crew cardigan, Anthropologie top, Gap jeans, Steve Madden boots, Longchamp bag, Forever21 necklace and ringSome things are just not meant to work out. Unfortunately, the combination of my calves and knee-high boots is just one of those things. After a sad experience with a pair of Frye boots that simply were not working (which Nordstrom thankfully took back), I was thrilled to come across this adorable pair of Steve Maddens. In the perfect shade of cognac brown with a tiny wedge, these fit my boot criteria wonderfully -- and, best of all, they're adjustable. I've barely taken them off since my purchase, a statement that is also true for these perfectly flattering Gap jeans -- my first official pair of skinnies, believe it or not. Add in a sparkly ring and beautifully-hued smocked top and you have my current favorite casual outfit. The gorgeous fall colors, of course, don't hurt either.

too bad about the frye boots but those are a perfect replacement! i have a version of those boots and about 98% of my friends have them, too--they are such a staple.

Josie, those boots were definitely worth the wait! They're so pretty! I love the rich color and aren't Gap skinny jeans the best? I have a few pair and I always seem to gravitate toward those and leave behind the more expensive jeans I own. I can see why you're wearing the boots and jeans often. They look fabulous on you! I have the same calf problem with boots, and virtually every year I fall for a pair that simply doesn't want to have anything to do with me. I lucked out with a pair of riding boots from Zara the other day though, yay! The colour of your boots is gorgeous!

I Love those boots. I have a very similar pair from SM as well. They just adjust in the back instead of on the side, but they are with the same great color and slight wedge. They are my FAV!!! You are going to love these until you wish you had purchased two pairs.
